Card News: Free Six Months of The Cultivist Membership for Capital One Credit Cardholders

Card News: Free Six Months of The Cultivist Membership for Capital One Credit Cardholders

When I travel either domestically or internationally, one of the must-do itinerary items includes visiting a museum. Whether it is a local gallery or a world-renowned establishment, a museum could be the perfect destination to learn more about the area and its history at once. However, visiting a famous museum can be expensive, and if you are traveling with family, you may need to be selective when planning a museum visit. I plan on visiting Musée d'Orsay in Paris, France, next year with my family, and unless I take advantage of the museum’s Free Admission Sunday, I will have to pay €16 per person. Adding three additional family members to the admission cost, the total admission cost will be €64 for a family of four. Lucky for fellow Capital One credit cardholders and me, Capital One has partnered with The Cultivist to offer a free six-month trial of The Cultivist membership to its personal and business credit cardholders, and this could save you a lot of money if you plan on visiting renowned museums in the near future.

What Is The Cultivist?

The Cultivist is a membership subscription service where members have access to over 100 museums globally. Aside from the corporate membership, there are two tiers of The Cultivist membership: The Enthusiast and The Cultivist.

The Enthusiast level costs $40 per month or $440 for an annual membership, and members will have access to over 100 world-renowned museums for themselves and up to three additional guests. Members will also be able to skip the line and will experience early access to exhibits. Members could enroll in discounted academic classes and virtually participate in monthly studio visits. For paying booking fees, you could also book guides and docents for any museum or gallery visit.

The Cultivist level costs $2,500 annually, and members will receive all benefits from The Enthusiast level plus more. Members will have access to exclusive in-person events—a private dinner at an artist’s studio or a private viewing of a new exhibition. Members can participate in small group art trips with fellow members, and the art concierge can recommend must-see exhibitions and tours.

Who Is Eligible for the Free Trial?

Capital One personal and business cardholders get a complimentary six-month membership with The Cultivist, and you can sign up HERE. The free membership will be at The Enthusiast level, and it will automatically renew itself if you don’t cancel it after six months. Per terms and conditions, the offer will expire on June 22, 2024, which means you have plenty of time to activate the free membership. Thus, I highly recommend activating your free trial when you have confirmed forthcoming museum visits to maximize the benefit.

Which Museums Are Covered?

Though you are looking at a face value of $240, not all museums are covered. Here is the full list of museums covered under the free membership, which is subject to change. Note that some museums will grant you access with your Cultivist card, and some will require you to request a ticket at least 24 hours in advance. For instance, when I visit Paris next year, I will stop by at Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre Museum. I will have to request tickets at least a day in advance for Musée d'Orsay, but for the Louvre Museum, I will need to request tickets seven days in advance. Regardless of the extra hoop, I am still thrilled that I will be able to enjoy free visits to amazing museums with my Capital One Venture X card.
