Card News: Plaza Premium Lounge Access for Capital One Venture X Cardmembers
Capital One announced a partnership with Plaza Premium lounges, granting complimentary access to Capital One Venture X cardmembers and limited access to Capital One Venture and Capital One Spark Miles Business cardmembers. This is great news for Capital One credit card users—the new partnership will strengthen the brand’s position as a premium travel credit card issuer.
The Capital One Venture X card has become a stronger premium travel credit card with the addition of Plaza Premium lounges to its airport lounge network.
What Is Plaza Premium Lounge & Where Are They Located?
Plaza Premium lounges consist of over 100 global lounges, located at various airports. In addition to regular Plaza Premium lounges, the portfolio includes notable airport lounges managed by the Plaza Premium lounge brand:
Air France Lounge at Montréal - Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses at many US airports, including John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Logan International Airport (BOS)
Avianca Lounges in Columbia, including Bogota El Dorado International Airport (BOG)
MERA Business Lounge at Cancún International Airport (CUN)
SkyTeam Lounge at Sydney Airport (SYD)
You can enjoy complimentary alcoholic beverages at Plaza Premium lounges.
Similar to Priority Pass lounge or American Express (AMEX) Centurion lounge, Plaza Premium lounges offer drinks, food, and Wi-Fi and provide comfortable airport experiences to their guests. I recently used this benefit at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and while the lounge was quite compact, the food was better than what I normally experienced at domestic Priority Pass lounges. Speaking of Priority Pass lounge, its users had access to Plaza Premium lounges until June of 2021 when Plaza Premium lounges terminated the relationship. However, Plaza Premium lounges offer complimentary access to select AMEX credit cardmembers, including AMEX Platinum and AMEX Platinum Business cardholders.
When I visited Premium Plaza lounge at Toronto Pearson International Airport, they served butter chicken for lunch, and it was delicious.

Which Capital One Credit Cardmembers Have Access to Plaza Premium Lounges?
Members of the Capital One Venture X card enjoy unlimited, complimentary access to Plaza Premium lounges. In addition, you could bring two guests per visit—also free of charge—and if you are an authorized user of the Capital One Venture X card, you can enjoy Plaza Premium lounges for free. It makes sense given that the Capital One Venture X card is its newest premium product. Traditionally, people with the Capital One Venture Rewards card and Capital One Spark Miles Business cardmembers get two free lounge passes annually, which were only redeemable at Capital One Lounges. The lounge passes can now be used at Plaza Premium lounges, and unfortunately, there are still no guest privileges associated with the lounge passes. It’s important to note that you won’t need to activate anything to enjoy this benefit.
Don’t forget that the Capital One Venture X card comes with Priority Pass membership!

It is exciting to hear that the Capital One Venture X card is strengthening its position as a premium travel credit card by expanding its lounge footprint. Now, Capital One Venture X cardmembers gain complimentary access to Plaza Premium lounges, Priority Pass lounges, and Capital One Lounges.
