Card News: Capital One Premier Collection & Capital One Landing
When the Capital One Venture X card was released in 2021, it sparked competition among luxury travel credit cards. Recently, Capital One made two announcements that will further elevate travel perks for Venture X cardholders, and now there are more reasons than ever to consider the Capital One Venture X card in your wallet. Let’s see why these additions to the Capital One network are exciting.
The Capital One Venture X card is now on par with the AMEX Platinum card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
Reasons to Consider the Capital One Venture X Card
Compared to its contenders like the AMEX Platinum card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve card that carry high annual fees—$695 and $550 respectively—the Capital One Venture X card only has a relatively affordable annual fee of $395. The card offers straightforward benefits that effectively reduce the annual fee to $0; cardmembers receive an annual statement credit of up to $300 towards travel purchases at its travel portal and a 10,000 Capital One Miles bonus every year after renewing the card. I value one Capital One Mile at 1.7 cents per point, so the bonus could be worth up to $170, depending on how you utilize it, but at the bare minimum, it is worth $100 since you can cash it out at one center per point. Moreover, the card gives complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges and Capital One lounges, and you can add up to four authorized users for free. The current sign-up bonus is 75,000 Capital One Miles after spending $4,000 in three months, which is worth about $1,275. What Is Capital One Landing?
Capital One is launching new upscale airport lounges called Capital One Landing which offers sit-down dining experiences at select airports. While there is no set date for the launch, Capital One announced that LaGuardia Airport in New York and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington D.C. would be two lucky spots for the inception. The dining experience will be curated by José Andrés, which means you can expect excellent Spanish dishes with modern touches.

While there is no officially released information regarding entry requirements and expectations regarding the service, I fully expect cardholders of the Capital One Venture X card to have complimentary access to food and drinks—hopefully as long as you have the cad. Capital One Landing seems to be a direct competition against AMEX’s Centurion Lounge. Food and beverages at the Centurion Lounge are curated by famous James Beard award-winning chefs such as Nancy Silverton and Michael Solomonov. Even though the service at the Centurion Lounges is a self-served buffet, the Centurion Lounge network system is enormous compared to Capital One’s footprint which just started in early 2022. I am excited to see what Capital One Landing will bring to the table.
What Is Premier Collection?
Another exciting news is that Capital One will launch a luxury hotel reservation system called Premier Collection for cardholders of the Capital One Venture X card. The Premier Collection will feature luxury design hotels and resorts worldwide, and the portal will be available by the end of 2023 for booking. A few sample properties in the Premier Collection are COMO Castello Del Nero in Italy, The Ned NoMad in New York City, COMO Cocoa Island in the Maldives, and The Carlin Hotel in New Zealand. Those who booked lodging at one of the Premier Collection hotels will earn 10X back Capital One Miles and will experience the following benefits:
A $100 experience credit towards dining, spa, or other unique activities
Complimentary daily breakfast for two
Room upgrade when available
Early check-in and late checkout when available

Do these perks sound awfully similar to another exclusive travel platform? If you have the AMEX Platinum card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you probably recognize that these perks sound awfully similar to AMEX’s Fine Hotels & Resorts and Chase’s Luxury Hotel Collection. The Capital One Venture X card was already a solid product, but these two additions to the card will significantly boost its presence in the premium travel credit card market.
